Portugal, Tiles and Sunshine followed by Q&A

Raquel Martins

Portugal is a country with many traditions, keeping a great authenticity and a strong cultural identity. Despite its small dimension, It’s incredible, how you can find such a great diversity of food, architecture, landscape and history.
After all, we’re talking about one of the oldest countries in Europe, a mix of European culture, with influences from all over the world, remembering the times when Portuguese use to sail the globe from Brazil to Asia. We can talk about so many unique traditions, like the “pastéis de nata” custard tarts, the delicious “bacalhau”, cod fish, the unequal Fado song or the popular yellow trams, among others, but I want to talk to you about a very important decoration in Portugal the wonderful “Azulejos”, glazed tiles! Yes, tiles! Tiles, tiles, tiles, you can find them anywhere, from the colourful facades of the houses to the underground stations. They’re a must in the country!
So please, join me to discover more about this amazing tradition.
